The Look Back (PBS Wisconsin)

The Look Back is a state history series for students and educators in upper elementary and middle school. Historians model an inquiry and discovery process to teach viewers about understudied elements of history, using artifacts and sites as jumping off points. I co-developed the series and have been the lead Producer on every episode, collaborating on everything from research and writing to filming and editing.

Wisconsin Biographies (PBS Wisconsin)

Wisconsin Biographies celebrates notable figures from the state’s history. Since starting at PBS Wisconsin in 2021 I have been the lead Producer on four new biographies: Geshe Lhundub Sopa, Mahmoud Othman Atta, Electa Quinney, and Roberto Hernández. Two of these projects (Geshe Sopa and Electa Quinney) were the winners of Chicago/Midwest Emmy awards.

All Things Gym (various projects)

Since 2019 I have worked on several projects for All Things Gym, including videos on Taiwanese Olympic Champion Kuo Hsing-Chun, Turkish legend Naim Suleymanoglu, and most recently, American Olympic Champion Olivia Reeves. My videos have also addressed topics such as strength training for weightlifting and the importance of deliberate practice.

The Treachery of Images (of dogs) [2024]

This short started out as an effort to capture footage of my dogs using a super 8 camera and film. Despite having amassed thousands of photos and videos of my dogs digitally I felt a keen lack of their existence in an analog medium. From there the project spiraled into a deeper exploration of how people have portrayed dogs via the photographic image, and where images fit more broadly within the realm of human—and now nonhuman—experience.

A Due Remembrance of Wolves [2022]

A short meditation on humans’ troubled relationship with wolves, told via the writings of hunters, naturalists, and politicians.
